On December 7, the NWSL announced the decision to award an expansion franchise to Kansas City. With the draft scheduled some 37 days later, there were skeptics. To whom we said, “Go ahead. Underestimate us.”
Because they don't know what we know about Kansas City. In this place, we roll up our sleeves and get it done. So we set to work building a world class team for this city. 37 Days. Wake Up. Work. Watch Film. Work. Go to bed. Repeat.
Driven by the knowledge that the best athletes in the game will play here and the best fans in the country have earned our relentless pursuit of this dream. And their collective voice should be heard and reflected in the name and identity of this club. A name and identity that stands for the power of today and the promise of tomorrow.
So we’ll take the time to collaborate. To perfect. To give our Founding Members the chance to participate first.
During our Inaugural Season, we will proudly wear our KC Crest. Because there is one thing we know will not change.
