Kansas City NWSL Acquires Midfielder Jordyn Listro From Orlando Pride

KANSAS CITY (March 30, 2021) – Kansas City NWSL has acquired midfielder Jordyn Listro in a trade with the Orlando Pride. In exchange, the Pride will receive a conditional third-round pick from Kansas City in the 2022 NWSL Draft. The selection could change to one of Kansas City’s second-round picks in 2022 or 2023 should certain conditions be met.

“We were very impressed with her when we played Orlando earlier this preseason,” said head coach Huw Williams. “Jordyn plays with an aggressive mentality, and we think she is a young player on the rise.”

The 25-year-old Canadian midfielder holds the record for appearances with her alma mater, the University of South Florida. Listro totaled 82 appearances and tallied five assists for the Bulls, earning her a spot on the 2016 AAC All-Conference Second Team.

Internationally, Listro was part of Canada Soccer’s team in the 2012 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. She was called to Canada’s senior national team for the 2021 SheBelieves Cup, making two appearances for her home country.

Listro began her professional career in Spain with UDG Tenerife of the Primera Division. The Orlando Pride signed Listro before the 2020 Fall Series. She started all but one of Orlando’s games during the campaign, playing 262 minutes.

Kansas City NWSL opens the 2021 Challenge Cup presented by Secret on April 9 at the Portland Thorns FC. The team's home debut at Legends Field will be on April 26 at 7:30 p.m. CT against the Houston Dash. Kansas City NWSL is now accepting Season Ticket Membership deposits ahead of the team’s inaugural season. Regular season seat selection for Season Ticket Members begins April 1.
