KANSAS CITY NWSL FORWARD CALLED UP FOR INTERNATIONAL DUTY WITH ARGENTINA

KANSAS CITY (April 5, 2021) – Kansas City NWSL forward Mariana Larroquette will be joining the Argentina Women’s National Team for the Basque Country International Women's Cup. The first-year tournament will be held April 8-11, 2021 and features Argentina, Venezuela and Basque Country (an autonomous region of Spain).

Most recently, Larroquette played internationally at the 2021 SheBelieves Cup in Orlando, Florida. The 28-year-old forward from Buenos Aires scored the lone goal for her home country in the tournament. Larroquette has also represented Argentina at the 2008 and 2012 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cups and at the senior level during the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Due to her international commitments, Larroquette will miss Kansas City’s opening match of the 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup presented by Secret on Friday, April 9 against Portland Thorns FC. She will rejoin the team following the conclusion of the Basque Country International Women's Cup.
