KC NWSL Selects Three in Second Round

KANSAS CITY (Jan. 13, 2021) – Kansas City NWSL adds three talented players with back-to-back-to-back picks in the second round of the 2021 NWSL Draft. Head Coach Huw Williams selects Victoria Pickett (No. 15), Lucy Parker (No. 16) and Addie McCain (No. 17) to close out the club’s participation in the round.

Victoria Pickett, Midfield, Wisconsin – Pickett (no relation to No. 4 selection Kiki Pickett) hails from Ontario, Canada and has represented her country at the CONCACAF U-17 Championship and the FIFA U-17 and U-20 World Cup. She was First Team All-Big Ten in 2017 and 2018 and scored five goals and eleven assists in 57 matches for the Wisconsin Badgers.

Lucy Parker, Defender, UCLA – Parker represented England from the U-15 to U-21 levels. After transferring from Lousiana State University to UCLA she started all 24 games in 2019, playing a team-record 2,055 minutes.

Addie McCain, Midfield, Texas A&M – McCain made an immediate impact when she arrived at Texas A&M, earning SEC All-Freshman Team honors in 2017. Throughout her Aggies career she earned All-SEC Second Team (2018) and All-SEC First Team (2020).

Kansas City has two more picks remaining in the fourth round (Nos. 36, 38).
