Victoria Pickett Named to Canada National Team

KANSAS CITY (February 13, 2021) – Kansas City NWSL 2021 second-round draft choice Victoria Pickett has been added to Canada Soccer’s roster as the team prepares for the 2021 SheBelieves Cup, to be played Feb. 18-24. Canada’s final 23-player roster for the SheBelieves Cup will be released ahead of the opening match on Feb. 18. Pickett is the fifth Kansas City player invited to join her national team this month.

This is Pickett’s first invite to Canada’s senior team roster, although she previously represented her country at the U-17 and U-20 FIFA World Cup. In college, Pickett appeared 57 times for the University of Wisconsin, scoring five goals and eleven assists for the Badgers.

Canada Soccer also announced Kansas City NWSL midfielder Diana Matheson will not be available for the SheBelieves Cup due to injury. The talented midfielder is expected to join Kansas City’s preseason camp in March.
