Merchandising and Fan Engagement Coordinator

KC NWSL is seeking a passionate, experienced and talented Merchandising and Fan Engagement Coordinator to support our efforts on key fan initiatives, including merchandising, fan communication, and event/gameday management.

The Merchandising and Fan Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for managing and tracking purchasing, sales and fulfillment of team merchandise, as well as responding to and engaging with fans on questions and inquiries.
 
Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Support merchandise procurement strategy by researching vendors, negotiating and analyzing pricing and preparing purchase orders for approval.
  • Track production, quality control and delivery of merchandise.
  • Manage online/e-commerce platform and any technical or customer service issues that arise. 
  • Manage third-party fulfillment provider to ensure delivery and customer service objectives are met.
  • Interact with club finance team to prepare accurate reporting and forecasting.
  • Generate weekly, monthly, annual reporting as appropriate by item, vendor and retail program. 
  • Work with Marketing, Partnerships and Ticket Sales team to ensure that day-to-day communications with fans and members supports team objectives.
  • Act as the front line/first contact with Fans and Members who reach out to the team via phone and email and effectively and efficiently respond in a professional manner. 
  • When needed, serve as office reception and point of contact for vendors, deliveries, etc. 
  • Assist in fan communications such as marketing emails, newsletters, website updates.
  • Serve as the liaison with supporters groups.
  • Support on-site execution of events including match day and non-match day fan experiences. 
  • Provide general administrative and fan-facing support for the club. 

Requirements

  • BS degree in Marketing or relevant field
  • Knowledge of and passion for professional women's soccer
  • Experience working with Shopify and other e-commerce platforms
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • Vendor management/procurement
  • Retail merchandising, buying, sourcing  a plus
  • Understanding of retail pricing
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Relentless focus on follow-up and follow-through with the ability manage multiple high-priority projects
  • Ability to work nights/weekends based on club schedule
