KC NWSL Challenge Cup Match Moved To Children's Mercy Park

KANSAS CITY (April 22, 2021) – Kansas City NWSL announced a change of venue Thursday for the team’s first home Challenge Cup match against the Houston Dash on Monday, April 26. The game is being moved to Children’s Mercy Park, with kickoff remaining at 7:30 p.m. CT.

“We are so excited to play in front of our fans and we want them to have the full experience of a KC NWSL match day,” said Kansas City COO Amber Cox. “While construction delays are never ideal, we’re grateful to Sporting Kansas City for their assistance and hospitality and are looking forward to being with our fans this Monday at Children’s Mercy Park.  Additionally, The Monarchs have assured us that we’ll be able to welcome fans at Legends Field on May 3.”

Due to capacity reductions, attendance to this point had been limited to Season Ticket Members and youth soccer clubs. Those with tickets will receive information Thursday evening outlining the process for selecting their seats and accessing related amenities at Children’s Mercy Park.

Since Children’s Mercy Park offers an expanded capacity number, details about purchasing single game tickets for Monday’s match will be announced once Season Ticket Members have selected their seats.

Season Ticket Members will receive communication later today for information on transferring their tickets to the new venue.

While construction continues this week at Legends Field, the team expects to return there for the final game of the 2021 Challenge Cup on Monday, May 3 against OL Reign at 7:00 p.m. CT.
